What to expect during the AWS Executive Summit: Join theCUBE Nov. 29 - SiliconANGLE

In an economy upended by ongoing worldwide turbulence, future-forward cloud solutions are more critical than ever. However, the reality is that businesses are looking to optimize cloud strategies for scale as well as cost.

Accenture PLC has spent the past year advancing its cloud-first mission with touchpoints across more than 40 different industries. The specialty services provider is seeing growing investment in cloud-based business models heading into 2023.

“Regardless of what the business is, technology is absolutely critical to whatever transformation you’re doing,” said Raj Wickramasinghe, hybrid and emerging platform lead at Accenture, in a recent interview with theCUBE. “And when you look at technology, you have to think cloud-first, because that’s where all the innovation is happening. That’s where all the investments are being driven.”

On Nov. 29, theCUBE will be covering the AWS Executive Summit at re:Invent 2022. Coverage will include interviews with Accenture executives and its customers about cloud solutions that incorporate an array of verticals Accenture is pursuing after its acquisition of several digital-first businesses that support a portfolio spanning Earth imaging, carbon intelligence and intelligent logistics. An eye to the cloud

Accenture reportedly manages more than 34,000 cloud projects in nearly every industry with strong ties with the major cloud platform providers, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft and Google. It counts among its qualifications more than 20,000 professionals holding more than 24,000 AWS certifications, and AWS recognizes the company as having more than 30 competencies. Accenture has spent the past year bulking up its roster, announcing more than a dozen acquisitions this year, including The Beacon Group to bolster its services in aerospace, healthcare and life sciences. A growing ecosystem of strategic partnerships has further extended Accenture’s integrations, such as the team up with Toshiba to design sustainability service models toward carbon neutrality.

It’s already been two years since Accenture announced the formation of Accenture Cloud First with a $3 billion investment, as it aims to help clients across all industries rapidly become “cloud-first businesses.” Despite the labor crunch and economic slowdown, Accenture reported a revenue increase of 15% to $15.4 billion for the fourth quarter.

“Technology demand is really incredible,” said Accenture CEO Julie Sweet during Accenture’s FY22 fourth-quarter earnings call. “All strategies lead to technology, and we‘re super pleased with not only our performance there, but what we’re seeing ahead as clients continue to build the digital core as fundamental to all of their other strategic needs.”

Accenture believes a time of uneconomic uncertainty and flux isn’t the time to hit the brakes, but just the opposite — and it points to its network of Advanced Technology and Intelligent Operations centers, which it believes are ready to position big winners in the future market. It’s because of its significant investment into such resources that Accenture says it wants to connect clients to AWS services as they increasingly turn to the adoption of cloud solutions.

“Early on, customers wanted to pick a public cloud provider,” said Ashley Skyrme, senior managing director at Accenture, in an interview with SiliconANGLE. “Now they want best of breed for infrastructure, edge and industry.”
